Expo for Kids : Free like the air

Robert Trépanier is a painter and a professional kite flyer whose passion for kites dates back to his childhood. Today, his artworks stimulate the imagination, use the element of surprise and continue to make us dream. Sometimes funny, sometimes serious, the kites embody the artist’s concerns with respect to environmental issues. In addition to participating in several festivals and international exhibitions, Robert Trépanier also offers cultural mediation activities which allow young people to develop their creativity and to be more environmentally conscious through the arts.

Daily from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (open until 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and open at 9:30 a.m. on Saturdays)

Cooking Class- Over the top Tacos

Kids love hand held foods, and tacos are one of the tastiest and most versatile. In this creative, fun-filled class we’ll help your little ones take tacos to the next level, as they create Taco-Stuffed Pizza Rolls; Taco Stuffed-Mini Peppers; Fish Tacos with Sweet Corn Salsa; and scrumptious Dessert Tacos with Strawberries.

Saturday, August 6:

Obstafun

OBSTAFUN is a 1 km obstacle fun run for kids with a fundraising component – West Island kids helping West Island kids.

15 child-friendly obstacles (bridges, tunnels, hay bales, planks, firefigher ladder, tires, cows and more) will be set up throughout the 1 km course and kids can do the course as many times as they like. There will be a new wave starting every 10 minutes to keep the course flowing. Note: the 9 a.m. wave will be reserved for children 6 years & younger.

Funds raised will benefit Community Shares, a non-profit organization that supports 40 community groups in the West Island.

Registration required. Children under 6 years must be accompanied by an adult.
