Polaris Show (Montreal)

James, a travelling penguin from the South Pole, and Vladimir, a funny bear from the North Pole, meet on the Arctic sea ice. The two are amateur astronomers, trying to solve the mystery of why the night is so long at the Earth’s poles. In an exciting scientific adventure, they build an observatory and then an improvised spaceship. During a trip around the Earth, extended to Mars and Saturn, they get their answer and discover that the planets have similarities but also differences.

Expo for Kids: Frida in Full Colour (Pointe Claire)

With her works, Cara Carmina portrays the beauty of simply transforming a piece of paper or fabric into something extraordinary. Her art is expressive, colourful, and whimsical. This exhibit will feature her illustrations in various books, as well as some “Frida” dolls.

Where: Pointe-Claire Cultural Centre, Stewart Hall, 176 Lakeshore Rd.

First Fridays at St. Columba (Pointe Claire)

This month’s theme: “WHOEVER YOU ARE

Apples…each has its own distinct colour and flavor and yet they are all fruit and have a deliciously sweet taste. They are different yet the same!

Our theme this month celebrates both our diversity and our common humanity – whoever and wherever we are in the world. Everyone eats, everyone hurts, everyone builds and everyone loves… these are just some of the activities (and snacks) kids get to explore if they arrive between 5:30 and 6:15 pm.

This will be followed by dinner around 6:30 pm. Kids who finish quickly can continue with the activities or watch a short film. Parents can relax. Kids rejoin their parents for dessert. It is BYOB with juice, water and coffee always available as well as vegetarian options. The suggested donation is $8 per adult. Kids are free.

Annual Community Yard Sale (Pointe Claire)

Our annual yard sale is back! (weather permitting, check facebook for updates). We offer all kinds of items, from furniture to toys, books, records, and everything for the home. Coffee or Tea, hot dogs, chips and drinks are served over lunch. All monies raised go to the flat roof replacement of our building. Donations welcome: dropoff available Sunday May 26 or June 2 between 4 and 6 pm. No TVS or clothes please. Thank you!
