Polaris Show (Montreal)

James, a travelling penguin from the South Pole, and Vladimir, a funny bear from the North Pole, meet on the Arctic sea ice. The two are amateur astronomers, trying to solve the mystery of why the night is so long at the Earth’s poles. In an exciting scientific adventure, they build an observatory and then an improvised spaceship. During a trip around the Earth, extended to Mars and Saturn, they get their answer and discover that the planets have similarities but also differences.

Expo for Kids: Frida in Full Colour (Pointe Claire)

With her works, Cara Carmina portrays the beauty of simply transforming a piece of paper or fabric into something extraordinary. Her art is expressive, colourful, and whimsical. This exhibit will feature her illustrations in various books, as well as some “Frida” dolls.

Where: Pointe-Claire Cultural Centre, Stewart Hall, 176 Lakeshore Rd.

First Friday’s at St. Columba (Pointe Claire)

This month’s theme: “The Wonder Window

Wonder… “a sense of surprise or state of amazed admiration”. For children, everything is a source of wonder because everything is new!

Have you become wonder-impaired? Come and rekindle your own sense of wonder at St. Columba’s First Fridays Community Supper on Friday, May 3rd.

All are welcome – younger and older – to find wonder in the world through the rich blessing of our senses.

First Fridays begins at 5:30 pm with snacks for the kids as well as fun activities using the 5 senses that will stir up wonder. Dinner is served around 6:30 pm. Kids who finish quickly can continue with the activities or watch a short film. Parents can relax. Kids rejoin their parents for dessert.

It is BYOB. Juice, water and coffee are always available, as well as vegetarian options. The suggested donation is $8 per adult, but give what you can.

Spring Vendor Fair and BBQ (Pierrefonds)

A lot has happened in our community over the past couple of weeks. So many of our neighbors have been hit hard by the flooding in our area. People are in fear of losing their homes, and are frantically trying to save them with the help of so many courageous and generous volunteers.
We at St Michael & All Angels, have decided that this year we would like to donate ALL of the proceeds from our event to help our neighbors. We will be making a donation to the West Island Community Shares organization who have a special fund dedicated to helping those who have been affected by the flooding in our area.
Please come and support this cause – come and help our neighbors.
