The Perfect Turkey

Preheat oven to 325 F degree. Clean turkey (remove giblets) and place in roasting pan.

In a small bowl, combine olive oil, garlic powder, dried basil, ground sage, salt and pepper.

Apply mixture to the outside of the uncooked turkey, water or chicken stock in the bottom of roasting pan and cover. Bake until the internal temp of the thigh measures 180 degrees F. Remove bird from oven and allow to stand about 30 min before carving. Serve

Best Gravy ever

5 cups for turkey stock with pan drippings

1 can of cream of chicken soup

1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 cup milk

1/3 cup of all purpose flour

Salt and pepper

Bring the turkey stock to a boil in a large saucepan. Stir in soup, and season with poultry seasoning, pepper, seasoned salt, and garlic powder. Reduce heat to low, and let simmer. Warm the milk in the microwave, and whisk in the flour with a fork until there are no lumps. Return the gravy to a boil, and gradually stir in the milk mixture. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, for 1 minute, or until thick enough to serve over turkey and sides

 

Grandma’s Yummy stuffing

1 loaf of sliced white bread

¾ cup of butter

1 chopped, diced onion

4-5 stalks of celery chopped

1 apple chopped (optional)

2 teaspoons of poultry seasoning

1 cup of chicken broth

3-4 potatoes mashed

In a pan, melt butter, cook onion and celery until softened. Season with poultry seasoning, salt and pepper. Stir in bread cubes until evenly coated moisten with chicken broth

Chill and use to stuff your turkey or cook  in oven safe dish at 350 degrees for 30-40 min.

Serve

 

No Fail Mashed Potatoes

5 pounds of peeled and cubed potatoes

½ cup cream cheese

½ cup sour cream

1/3 cup milk

2 tablespoons of butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook potatoes until softened (test with fork) Drain water. Add above ingredients and mash (using a handheld mixer adds extra smoothness and add more milk as needed to create desired consistency)

Serve

 

 

Marvelous Maple carrots

1 bag of pre peeled carrots

4-5 tablespoons of Maple syrup

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped parsley

Bring carrots to a boil. Cook until softened.

Drain water

Add garlic powder

Drizzle maple syrup over carrots

Add chopped parley

Serve

 

 

Fresh Cranberry Sauce

1 cup of white sugar

1 cup or orange juice

1 package of fresh cranberries

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries, and cook until they start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat, and transfer to a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

Serve

 

Easy Peasy Pumpkin Cream Pie

2 Cups of Milk

2 packages of instant vanilla pudding

1cup of canned pumpkin

1 teaspoon of pumpkin spice

1cup of cool whip

1 pie crust (9 inch)

Combine milk, pie filling mix, pumpkin, spices, and whipped topping in a deep, narrow-bottom bowl. Beat at lowest speed of an electric mixer for about 1 minute. Pour filling into cooled pie shell. Chill until set, about 3 hours.

Add a dollop of whipped topping to each slice when serving!
