Every week we will feature a local west island dad that has his own business and lives in the west island. We are so excited to introduce you to our Final Fourth DadPreneur : Vince Barrucco (aka Cousin Vinny) of Cousin Vinny Productions.
- What is the name of your business and what is it about?
The name of my company is Cousin Vinny Productions. It’s currently a side gig of mine that I’m really passionate about. It focuses on Voice overs and Audio services such as narration, e-learning, commercial reads, podcasts intros and outros, customized music mixes, audio enhancing & much more. Producing audio is something I’ve always loved doing and the possibilities are endless lately in my recently upgraded professional home studio, it’s super exciting!
2. How long have you been an entrepreneur and why did you become one?
Not long at all! It’s a new world for me that I’ve been learning about more recently. I haven’t taken the plunge yet as a full-time entrepreneur but I’m inspired by some family and friends who have done it and say it’s very rewarding. My experience in the audio world is close to 20 years now though and there’s more demand for specialized audio these days so I feel like it’s coming along nicely.
3. What advice would you give to a Dad considering opening their own business?
Focus on one area and make it shine! Trying to be great at everything is virtually impossible and exhausting! Stay in one lane and try to be the best! Also, somehow getting your family involved really makes it worthwhile. My wife Tina has many skills that I don’t have and I try to utilize them as much as possible.
4. Seeing we are all about our West Island Community, where are your Go to places?
There’s a good chance you might catch my family (my wife and 2 daughters) and I at Costco in Pointe-Claire (we love the hot dogs!). We love cruising through Marche De L’Ouest on a Saturday morning. It’s always nice enjoying nature walking through Centennial Park in DDO and walking along the water in Dorval. You will catch me at Fairview at least once a month, Maxi and Pharmaprix often on St-Jean and in line at Marathon’s or Cote St Luc BBQ!
5. To wrap up, what are your must have items that you use or need everyday….
My phone! Headphones are a must for me. As a dad of 2 very young kids, WIPES WIPES and more WIPES!! Wifi is important to stay connected. These days we always need a MASK! Last not but not least, always need my car with two car seats to be ready to pick up the kids at any time!
