Fall at the Zoo (Sainte anne de Bellevue)

In septembre, come experience something truly unique about animal well-being!

Because animal well-being is at the heart of our mission, we invite you to step into the daily lives of our team and discover the many actions we take to provide the best possible support to the animals in our care.

“Junior Zookeeper” Game

Become a Junior Zookeeper and take care of one of four animals living at the Zoo Ecomuseum: the Wood Turtle, River Otter, Arctic Fox, or Common Raven. With ten game stations located throughout the site, you’ll explore different aspects of the animals’ daily lives at the zoo: living spaces, diets and feeding, enrichment, medical care, visitor interactions, and much more.

At each station, you’ll have to identify which option best corresponds to your chosen animal and record your answer on your Zoo Map. Every station also includes a QR code linking to a short educational video that highlights our animal care practices. You can even play again to try caring for all four animals!

Don’t forget to snap a selfie with your “Junior Zookeeper” Accreditation once you’ve completed the journey!

These activities are included with regular admission, no reservation required. Available until mid/the end of September (while supplies last).

Educational Presentations

On weekends from Saturday, August 30, to Sunday, September 28, join our naturalist guides for daily presentations that shed light on how the zoo operates and cares for the residents.

  • At 10:30 a.m., at the Bobcat: Life at the Zoo Ecomuseum
  • At 12:00 a.m., in the aviary, on the platform: Animals in our educational program (with artifacts)
  • At 2:00 p.m., at the Red Foxes: Animal Medical Care
  • At 3:30 p.m., in the presentation area: Animals in our educational program (with reptiles)

Each presentation also explores staff training, the Zoo Ecomuseum’s accreditations, and your role as a visitor.

These activities are included with regular admission and require no reservation. Available Saturday and Sunday, from August 30th to September 28th.

A SPOOKQUILL story at the Ecomuseum Zoo this fall!

This fall, a prickly program awaits you! We invite you to climb into a sharp-toothed adventure, as Quebec’s rodents take the center stage: Porcupines and Beavers are at the heart of this winding tale… and a brand-new adventure is being offered to you!

Spookquill, the Porcupine

For Halloween, become a pro on Porcupines and Beavers by following the adventures of Spookquill, the Porcupine who dreamed of becoming a Beaver… It’s a tale of a cursed pumpkin and a magical marsh that’s sure to spark your curiosity!

Two versions will be available: a one-quill version designed especially for families and porcu-pips (that’s the name for baby porcupines!), and a three-quill version for adults and seasoned porcupines.

It’s a brand-new game you definitely won’t want to miss!

These activities are included with regular admission, no reservation required. Offered in October and November.

Educational Presentations

To satisfy your curiosity, we are offering a brand-new educational presentation to help you learn about these two fascinating rodents through myths and legends…

Presentations are offered on weekends only, in front of the deer platform near the Wild Turkeys. Come join us at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m., or 3:30 p.m.!
