- What is the name of your business and what is it about?
Bsbowzart
Creating Floral Souvenirs to preserve your everlasting memories.
I work with floral arrangements from weddings, funerals, anniversaries or flowers from any occassion to create blocks as well as functional pieces that you can cherish for years to come.
I also make functional art pieces form resin.
2. How long have you been an entrepreneur and why did you become one?
I have been an entrepreneur from the age of 24 when I 1st started my own fitness studio in Mumbai , India. Managing my own enterprise has always helped me want to strive to create the best experience for my clients.
I decided to stay home after my son was born in 2009 and being able to work in and around his activities has been a great boon.
3.What advice would you give to a Mom considering opening their own business?
Having your own business gives you the flexibility to spend as much time as you want to on it and also have enough time to spend with family.
Personally for me my family has been my 1st priority and working from home has given me the opportunity to be able to give my best to both my worlds.
There are times in the year when I am not able to have the same work life balance, but overall I am very happy that I can do something that I love.
One has the flexibility to set their own goals, and when the opportunity allows you to advance more in your business, you can do so as you already have a strong base in terms of clients and products.
4.Seeing we are all about our West Island Community, where are your Go to places?
Food: Calzone pizza, Avocado sushi.
Stores: all the amazing little stores in Pointe Claire Village
Shopping: All the amazing momrepreneus we have in and around the West Island, who create amazing and unique products and experiences.
5. The past year has been a struggle for everyone, what has helped you the most get through it?
The support of our local community who had always tried to help small businesses. I would say that the West Island has some amazing talents as well as a client base who is always supportive to the local artisans/ entrepreneurs.
The pandemic gave me the opportunity to develop a new product: Floral Souvenirs.
I had a lot more time to research and try out various materials and techniques to be able to provide the best final product.
6. To wrap up, what are your must have items that you use or need everyday….
