The Ecomuseum Zoo’s Nature Camp is back!

After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the Ecomuseum Zoo’s Nature Camp is finally back for summer 2022! The zoo team can’t wait to meet all its happy campers again and have the chance to introduce them to Quebec’s flora and fauna!

A week of camp at the zoo is an adventure your kids will talk about for a long time! Each year, new exciting and enriching activities await our young campers aged 6 to 11 years of age. Specifically, your children will have the opportunity to interact directly with certain animals and discover the natural settings we all share. They will, among other things:

  • Learn how to ensure the well-being of the animals in our care;
  • Prepare special enrichments for various animals, including the Black bear, the Gray wolves, or maybe even the turtles ;
  • Discover real techniques used by scientists to protect animals in the wild, like telemetry;
  • Discover a forest ecosystem and everything hidden within;
  • And many more unexpected surprises!

The Ecomuseum Zoo has been part of the West Island community for over 33 years! The zoo welcomes animals that cannot be rehabilitated in the wild, either because they have been injured, found orphans or because they were born under human care. The zoo offers them a safe and loving permanent home, among an institution dedicated to their well-being!

Education is at the heart of the Ecomuseum Zoo’s mission: learning about the wildlife that surrounds us means taking another step towards its protection! Kids at Nature Camp will have the chance to immerse themselves in the world of Québec’s wildlife. One thing is for sure, they will have a lot of new knowledge to share with you on the way home! The zoo will ensure that the necessary sanitary measures are in place to maximize the safety of children and employees.
