Indoor Activities
If staying home is what you will be doing, here are some fun activites you can do with the kids.
Sugaring Off
We have received tons of beautiful white snow lately. It’s a great time to do some at home sugaring off with some Taffy or Tire in the snow.
-Grab a plastic container- a large rectangular one is best
-Boil maple syrup. It needs to be boiled on high for a good 20mins.
-Pack your container with fresh white snow. Leave it outside to stay frozen
-Test your syrup on the snow by using a laddle and pouring a line. If it’s too thin, boil it longer.
-Grab a bunch of popsicle sticks and if you have none you can use a spoon
-Once the syrup is at the perfect consistency, you can start pouring a bunch of lines to eat and enjoy
To get the full experience, order the full meal from one of our amazing sugar shacks by checking out Ma Cabane for all the options.
Movie Matinee
What’s better than an afternoon movie in the comfort of your own home? Treat the kids to an online movie rental.
-you can rent movies through Videotron or Bell
-Did you know you can rent movies off Cineplex.com? they have tons of movies to rent including some lastest releases.
-You can also find some great movies on Netflix, Disney +, Apple Tv and any other streaming service.
– Check out our activity kits for a special Movie kit to add some extra fun to your matinee.
Indoor Picnic
There is nothing more fun than having a lunch or supper picnic! Surprise the kids with something totally fun by setting up in your living room or basement a full out Picnic.
- Whip up a kid friendly meal with low mess factor
- set up a blanket to sit on
- you can use pillows to sit on or lean on for support
- You can even add a dress code to spice it up- fancy, beach wear etc.
- You can make it a theme with your set up and food choices
- Lay out your food. You can do it individually or make it a buffet style
- The best part- HAVE FUN.
Build a fort
There is nothing more fun than building a living room fort as a child. Grabbing all the blankets and sheets around the house . Kids are so creative and have the best time making it the biggest one of all time. This activity can keep them busy for a hour or 2. It allows creativity and the hope that siblings will work together to build the best fort ever.
