We are so excited to introduce you to our eighth MomPreneur : Veronika Zilberman of EVA Essentials Organic, a local business that makes Organic blends for your health & happiness100% pure, natural & organic ingredients.Handcrafted with care.

  1. What is the name of your business and what is it about?

EVA Essentials is a wellness and personal care small business offering handmade, all-natural, and organic aromatherapy and self-care products. Fun fact: The name EVA is actually an acronym formulated by mine and my daughters’ initials!

2. How long have you been an entrepreneur and why did you become one?

After my mental and physical health took a toll in 2020 – more specifically, thyroid issues, chronic insomnia, PPD, and anxiety – I decided to get into making myself and my family all-natural products, starting off with aromatherapy roller bottles. Slowly but surely an idea turned into a hobby to a passion and after a lot of research, online classes and a whole lot of reading, it blossomed into a small business.

3.What advice would you give to a Mom considering opening their own business?

Just go for it. The only thing stopping you is yourself. Take your goal and break it down into small, realistic short-term goals. Write it all down. Do your research. And most importantly, don’t be hard on yourself; take your time and never compare to others. Always remember why you started it all, no matter how small or how big you become. What did it for me and what continues to work for me is that I don’t set myself expectations. I go with the flow and I don’t over-commit.

4.Seeing we are all about our West Island Community, where are your Go to places?

There’s so many… I love browsing around Plaza Pointe-Claire.

Trattoria is big a favourite. I live in Les Cèdres, so closer to home: Cafexo has some great cappuccinos! I recently discovered a small business called Taco Loco where we literally order weekly because they make amazing authentic tacos!

5. The past year has been a struggle for everyone, what has helped you the most get through it?

Wine… is that an acceptable answer? In all seriousness, I completely stopped holding high expectations for myself. Whether it’s at work, with my kids, my spouse or my side gig, I just go with the flow, or at least I try to. I found my outlet in creating my products, it’s a major stress relief. I should probably do a shout-out to my hubby because if not, he’ll read this and say, “umm babe, I don’t see any mention of your awesome husband…insert death stare here.*”  All jokes aside though, he’s an amazing support, from being my backbone during my health struggles, to being a great dad, and finally, being an awesome cheerleader. Without him, I wouldn’t be able to keep up with and a full-time job, a small business and parenting 2 amazing kids without wanting to rip my hair out. Thanks to him, I can do all this, stress-free and with a smile on my face.

6. To wrap up, what are your must have items that you use or need everyday….
